SOLUTION
WFC recently began the planning and design of Verizon Wireless’ newest and most advanced wireless head-end Switching Center in Farmingdale, NY. Due to the rapid growth in the wireless industry as a whole, and the recent surge in subscribers Verizon has experienced since personal wireless phone numbers became portable, Verizon desperately needed the additional capacity this new center afforded. Construction was completed in September 2004. Verizon Wireless has since completed its equipment installation making the site fully operational. Total construction cost for the building renovation was over $4.4 M.
